- 132 MW
- Jeffreys Bay, South Africa
- Power 114 000 Homes
Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm is a 132 MW facility and is located between the towns of Jeffreys Bay and Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape, spread over 3 700 hectares of land. The plant uses 60 x 2.3 MW turbines to produce approximately 460 GWh per year. This is enough energy to meet the annual needs of about 114 000 average South African homes.
This is another project which has helped me gain knowledge in the renewable energy field. Although I have not been involved in the actual maintenance of any equipment, I have undertaken some tasks at this site such as:
- Prepared a high level view of the maintenance plan together with resource planning
- Developed the equipment tree for the plant
- Updated the maintenance plan on a quarterly basis according to the changes made in the database
- Occasionally provided support to technical staff on the usage of the CMMS
